Erdogan visit: demonstrations and 1500 police officers

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Berlin this Friday is a hot topic, with around 1500 police officers and support from other federal states and the federal police set to secure the event. Restricted zones will be established around key areas like the Chancellery, the Bellevue Palace, the Turkish embassy, and the official residence of the Federal President, with registrations for demonstrations prohibited inside.

However, demonstrations are still planned for Saturday. One event, protesting against the ban on the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) and Erdogan's policies, is set for Kreuzberg at 11:00 AM with a projected 3000 participants. Radical left-wing groups have also shown interest in these protests. Another, for Palestine against Israel's attack on the Gaza Strip, will start at 2 PM with a registration count of 10,000 participants.

As tensions rise, the security detail, including 1500 police officers, will play a crucial role in maintaining peace and order. Extremist groups have threatened to disrupt Erdogan's visit, making their presence imperative. Given the volatile environment, with recent events like the car attack in Munich boosting security concerns, it's safe to assume that Germany will deploy extensive measures to ensure safety at these events.

Erdogan's visit and the scheduled demonstrations in Berlin on Saturday could attract intense crowds. Therefore, German authorities are likely to implement vigorous security protocols, from deploying additional police forces to coordinating with international entities to mitigate potential risks.
