Epstein’s newly released emails expose views on Smolensk crash and Polish roots

Over 20,000 pages of emails from late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein have been made public, revealing his views on the 2010 Smolensk air disaster and his Polish heritage. Epstein dismissed conspiracy theories blaming then-Prime Minister Donald Tusk for the tragedy, stating that it would not have benefited Tusk politically at the time. In 2014, Epstein identified himself as Polish in an email exchange and condemned theories surrounding the disaster. He also praised Lech Kaczyński, one of the victims, for being a strong U.S. ally among European leaders. Epstein's Polish roots can be traced back to his paternal grandfather, who was born in Białystok, Poland, according to Ancestry.com. The name of the Polish woman with whom Epstein exchanged emails in April 2014 remains undisclosed. The released emails provide insight into Epstein's thoughts on the Smolensk air disaster and his Polish heritage. They also highlight his recognition of the late Polish President Lech Kaczyński's alliance with the U.S.
