Entertainment business insights gained through interview series in the music industry for UCLA students

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is set to launch a new live-streamed interview series called "Office Hours" on January 19. This exciting new initiative, produced in partnership with UCLA's Music Industry Committee (MIC at UCLA), UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, Tumblr, and WERD, aims to bring prominent artists and entertainment executives from the music industry closer to students and the Tumblr community.

The inaugural guest for "Office Hours" is Kaskade, a renowned singer, songwriter, producer, DJ, and remixer. Kaskade has expressed his excitement about discussing the music industry with UCLA students who are interested in breaking into the business. His conversation with music journalist Steve Baltin will premiere at 6:30 p.m. on January 19 on Tumblr and YouTube.

American rapper and actor Machine Gun Kelly is scheduled to appear on "Office Hours" in February. More guests for the series will be announced in due course.

UCLA students and faculty can join "Office Hours" live, requiring registration with a valid UCLA ID. Registration for the series can be done through following @MICatUCLA on Twitter, Instagram, and liking on Facebook. UCLA students and the Tumblr community can submit questions for guests in advance and during the live interview at the WERD Tumblr Ask Box.

"Office Hours" will be available as a livestream on Tumblr and YouTube. The series is the brainchild of UCLA students David and Allan Brik, who founded the Music Industry Committee at UCLA in fall 2016.

WERD, founded and curated by Steve Baltin, is a live magazine experience that brings together musicians and fans in an intimate setting. WERD has hosted events in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Las Vegas with artists such as Brandon Boyd of Incubus, G-Eazy, Moby, Dua Lipa, Joy Formidable, and Linkin Park's Brad Delson.

UCLA alumnus Brad Delson, founding member of Grammy Award-winning rock band Linkin Park, piloted an offline installment of "Office Hours" during a campus visit in November.

For the most current and detailed information about the upcoming guests for the UCLA "Office Hours" series and registration, it would be best to check UCLA’s official event calendars or the department hosting the series. UCLA often posts such event details on official UCLA websites, student affairs pages, or academic department sites. Additionally, UCLA social media channels or UCLA newsletters may provide specific updates about guest lineup and participation instructions.
