Ensuring Safety Measures Implemented in Full Force on May 9 in Novorossiysk

Due to increased security concerns following recent attacks, preparations for May 9th in Novorossiysk and across Russia are underway while prioritizing safety. The festivities revolve around thematic tours, exhibitions, concerts, and meetings with veterans, all carefully planned to follow safety protocols.

Novorossiysk's mayor, Andrei Kravchenko, has confirmed that all events will be held, in compliance with all necessary safety measures. The city will utilize all its resources to ensure a secure celebration.

In light of a Ukrainian drone attack on May 2 that impacted a military jet near Novorossiysk, the government has increased security nationwide, particularly around Victory Day events. This includes taking "all measures" for Moscow’s parade, with Red Square cordoned off and mobile phone and internet disruptions implemented, as well as special force drills. An emergency alert system has even been issued, warning of possible service outages and internet restrictions, all in the name of security.

Despite the heightened vigilance, the May 9th parade in Novorossiysk is set to take place. Governor Veniamin Kondratyev emphasized this decision would remain unaffected by any attempts from the Ukrainian Armed Forces to alter it. However, like specific safety protocols for Novorossiysk itself, details about additional measures beyond Crimea's parade cancellation and the events in Moscow are limited.
