**Summerjam Festival 2025: Reggae, Dancehall, and More in Cologne**
The Summerjam Festival, taking place at Fühlinger See in Cologne, Germany from July 4-6, promises a diverse and exciting lineup for music lovers. With over 40 bands performing, the festival is set to be a celebration of reggae, dancehall, and other genres.
Headlining the festival is Vybz Kartel, a Jamaican dancehall artist known for his massive influence on the genre. His performance at Summerjam will mark his first in Europe in over 20 years. Beenie Man, often referred to as "The Doctor" of dancehall, is also set to perform, bringing his legendary status to the festival.
Shenseea, a rising star in dancehall, and Burna Boy, a prominent figure in African music who blends Afrobeats and reggae, will also take the stage. Morgan Heritage, a reggae band known for their soulful harmonies and uplifting messages, and Alborosie, an Italian reggae artist with a soulful voice and eclectic style, are also part of the lineup.
The festival will also feature German rap and hip-hop with performers like K.I.Z. In addition, visitors can enjoy live acts on two stages, as well as music areas like the Black Foot Beach and the Feel Good Area for dancing and chilling.
Other artists performing include Kybba, Tribal Kush, Moop Mama X Älice, Ennio, ST the Gambian Dream, Omar Jatta, Max Herre & Joy Denalane, Curse, and Afrob. Some concerts will be shown in cooperation with ARTE Concert with a time delay in the stream.
Vybz Kartel was previously sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, but his sentence was overturned due to procedural errors. He was released from prison in 2024 and his appearance at the 2025 Summerjam Festival will be his only one in Europe so far.
Many visitors have set up tents around the Fühlinger See and have been there for several days. The festival is in a state of exception for the duration of the event.
