Enjoyable weather conditions return: Warmth expected in Yakutsk and surrounding regions
Yakutia, a vast region in eastern Siberia, is bracing for a week of unpredictable weather, according to Sargylana Nikitina, the head of the meteorological and agrometeorological forecasts department at Yakutia's UGMS.
The coming days will see a series of frontal systems moving through the regions, bringing varying temperature conditions. Gusty winds of up to 8-13 m/s are expected on Sunday in the republic's center, followed by a calm-down on Thursday. On Sunday, wet snow with rain is expected in the republic's center, while light snow persists in the north, and western regions and the Viluy group experience wet snow.
Temperatures in Yakutsk have seen a sudden drop, with the city and several regions currently experiencing a cold snap. On Wednesday, temperatures in Yakutsk dropped to between +4 and +9°C. However, daytime temperatures are expected to recover slightly, reaching up to +10°C on Saturday and +5... +7°C on Sunday in the republic's center.
The city of Yakutsk and the central regions are not the only areas affected. Some places in these regions have already experienced their first snowfall. Rain is expected in western regions on Thursday and in central regions on Friday. There will be a break in precipitation on Saturday in the republic's center.
Looking ahead, next week will see sunny conditions in central regions and Yakutsk. Temperatures in Yakutsk are expected to rise to +15°C at the start of the next week. Despite the temporary cold snap, it seems that warmer weather is on the horizon for Yakutia.
As always, it's important to stay informed and prepared for any weather changes. Keep an eye on updates from your local meteorological services for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
