In a historic moment for the region, Aragon is witnessing significant investments worth €57.9 billion over the past 25 months, primarily in technology, as revealed by President Jorge Azcón. This economic surge has propelled Aragon ahead of Dublin and Paris in technological infrastructures.

The President of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, issued a warning on September 18, 2020, during an El Ágora information cycle by 'elEconomista'. He emphasised that for there to be social policy, economic policy must function. This economic boom is expected to generate more than 17,000 to 21,000 jobs in the next five years due to the construction of data centers, according to studies by the Basilio Paraíso Foundation.

However, Aragon is facing a challenge with its power grid. A recent report placed Aragon among the regions with the most saturated grid, and several investments related to the construction of data centers are at risk due to this saturation. The Ministry of Ecological Transition has assigned a 3.8 GW capacity to data centers, and several billion-dollar projects in Aragon are at risk of being left out due to exceeding this capacity.

In an effort to address this issue, the Government of Aragon will meet with Minister Sara Aagesen next Monday to present the needs of Aragon and decide on grid capacity assignment. The objective in Aragon is to transform the raw material, and the President of Aragon hopes for treatment similar to that given to the Basque Country, where 80% of what was requested was granted.

The growing data center sector in Aragon is estimated to require €4.3 billion annually for grid investments. Despite the sector's significant growth, the companies or projects planning multibillion-euro investments in Aragon for data centers are not named explicitly in the search results.

Meanwhile, security and public services are being reinforced for the crowded Pilar festivals. On a different note, Aragon discovered damp in the painting room of Sijena, confirming "the urgency" of its transfer.

Azcón stated that Aragon is currently ahead in technological infrastructures, and a virtuous cycle is being generated in the economy of the community. More than 90% of the energy produced in Aragon is of renewable origin. This economic boom, coupled with the focus on renewable energy, is making Aragon an extraordinarily attractive territory for investment.
