On Thursday evening, police officers were directing traffic and urging pedestrians to move clear of C-Hexagon and India Gate. However, officers claimed this was a standard traffic regulation exercise common in the area.

Following suit, the Delhi government has enforced a ban on its employees taking time off until further notice.
Amplified Security Measures in the National Capital
Special police commissioners from all zones are conducting meetings with deputy commissioners from the 15 districts in the national capital. With escalated vigilance, security forces are keeping a sharp eye on malls, markets, metro stations, airports, residential neighborhoods, hotels, and other crowded locations.
Bomb Disposal Squads have also carried out anti-sabotage checks at various locations. Police checkpoints at the national capital's borders have been reinforced, with all vehicles approaching Delhi subjected to extra scrutiny.
Every DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) is keeping a close watch on law and order in their districts. They have already briefed their subordinates—ACPs (Assistant Commissioners of Police) and SHOs (Station House Officers)—and are personally monitoring their assigned areas. The Delhi Police force is primed and ready to handle any situation that may materialize.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Abhishek Dhania stated, "As part of ongoing anti-terror measures, the police conducted a comprehensive security inspection at the Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Metro Station, a key public facility. During the review, CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) personnel were updated, and a concentrated coordination meeting was held."
He continued, "The station is protected by 41 operational CCTV cameras, monitoring essential areas continuously. In each shift, 9 male and 2 female CISF personnel are deployed to ensure continuous, round-the-clock security. This ensures the safety of the commuters."
Additional security personnel have been posted at crucial locations like New Delhi, Central Delhi, the cantonment area, and the IGI Airport. Police are concurrently tracking social media platforms for possible threats.
