Enhanced Patrols on the Roads: Lasers, Motorcycles, and Radars Deployed for Increased Safety - 2509068
In an effort to ensure road safety, the Santa Clara County Police stepped up traffic checks throughout the county on Sunday, September 14, 2025. The focus of these checks was particularly on the Hespertal area in Velbert and the Kuhlendahler Straße.
During the patrol, a total of 19 speeding violations were detected in Velbert and its surrounding areas. Out of 1,269 measured vehicles on Schneiderstraße, 86 were found to be speeding and will receive warning or fine notices. Laser measurements were also conducted in Velbert's Hespertal, near the Langenberger transmitter, and on the Kuhlendahler Straße.
Eleven drivers were caught speeding in these locations, with the worst offender being a motorcyclist, traveling at 89 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. This motorcyclist faces a €200 fine and one point on his license. Another motorcyclist, traveling at 129 km/h in a 70 km/h zone, will face a €480 fine, two points on his license, and a one-month driving ban.
The Santa Clara County Police continue to focus on traffic enforcement, using ProVida motorcycles and radar devices. These motorcycles have been in use for many years for detecting speeding violations and other traffic offenses. Two ProVida motorcycles were used in these checks, equipped for traffic surveillance and evidence recording.
