England Cricket Star Liam Livingstone Expresses Disappointment over England Team Selection in 2025

Liam Livingstone, the talented English cricketer, is currently playing in The Hundred 2025, but his international career has taken a surprising turn. Despite his strong recent performances, Livingstone has been left out of England's white-ball squads for the upcoming series against South Africa and Ireland.

In an interview on TalkSPORT's Following On podcast, Livingstone expressed his disappointment and frustration at this decision. He acknowledged that he has not had any discussions with England's management since being dropped from the squads since May 2025, leaving him uncertain about his future place in the side.

Livingstone, who has not played for England since their Champions Trophy group-stage exit in March 2021, believes he could still help an England team win a T20 World Cup. He stated that he is playing as well as he ever has in his career and feels he is still good enough to represent his country.

Despite captaining England in an ODI series against West Indies last year and helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru win their maiden IPL title in June, Livingstone has not been selected for another England call-up. His poor performances in the series in India and Pakistan earlier in the year, where he scored poorly, may have played a part in his exclusion. However, Livingstone believes he is still improving in the shorter formats and feels he is still improving as a player.

Meanwhile, Jacob Bethell is set to become the youngest-ever England captain for the T20I squad. The England T20I squad has been announced for the Ireland tour, but Livingstone's name is conspicuously absent.

Livingstone's frustration is evident when he talks about not being able to help the England team. He believes he still has a lot to offer and hopes for a chance to prove himself once again in international cricket. As he continues to perform well in domestic competitions like The Hundred, it remains to be seen whether England's management will reconsider their decision and give Livingstone another opportunity to represent his country.
