THuringia's Leisure Pools Benefit from Energy Aid

Three municipal thermal and leisure pools in Thuringia have already tapped into financial aid from the state to shield themselves from skyrocketing energy costs. Jena's Galaxsea, Saalemaxx in Rudolstadt, and Kur und Tourismus GmbH are among the recipients, receiving a combined total of approximately 1.4 million euros, according to a representative from the Ministry of the Interior. These municipalities applied for the financial aid.

The city administration confirmed that 600,000 euros were earmarked for Bad Frankenhausen, with the Kyffhäusertherme spa accounting for a significant portion of that allotment.

Last year, the Thuringian government expanded a special fund originally created to tackle the coronavirus pandemic to include aid for managing the energy crisis. This fund, outside the normal state budget, offers financial assistance to municipalities and their associated companies to mitigate the effects of soaring energy costs.

Places like Kyffhäusertherme spa, popular tourist attractions, and Thuringia's municipalities in the tourism sector, can benefit from these resources.

It's essential to note that the sources provided do not offer specific details on financial aid for municipal leisure pools in Thuringia in relation to energy subsidies.
