Energy Conference Kicks Off in Leipzig, East Germany
The Eastern German Energy Forum, set to take place in Leipzig from Wednesday, will gather over 400 guests, including figures from politics, academia, and the energy industry, for a two-day discussion on the energy transition.
However, one issue that will not be part of the official program is the insufficient expansion of renewable energies in the Free State. This is the focus of the demonstration planned by environmental organization BUND Saxony, which will take place on the sidelines of the forum.
The demonstration is not being organized in collaboration with the forum's organizers, nor is it part of the official program. Instead, BUND Saxony aims to highlight the need for increased investment in renewable energy sources in eastern Germany.
Despite the demonstration, the forum's discussion will focus on the economic challenges facing small and medium-sized enterprises in eastern Germany as they navigate the energy transition. The forum will be opened by the premiers of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, Michael Kretschmer and Reiner Haseloff, respectively.
It's worth noting that the demonstration by BUND Saxony is not expected to be attended by the forum's guests. Additionally, a search of available results does not reveal any explicit mention of the organization planning a demonstration in Leipzig at the edge of the Eastern German Energy Forum.
Despite this, the demonstration by BUND Saxony serves as a reminder of the ongoing debate about the pace and scope of the energy transition in eastern Germany, and the role of renewable energy in the region's economic future.
