Fresh Firepower for FC Energie Cottbus: Unleashing Ogbidi and Hannemann
Energy Club Cottbus inks deals with Ogbidi and Hannemann - Energy company, Cottbus, reinforces its team with Ogbidi and Hannemann.
Ready to shake up the third division, FC Energie Cottbus has signed two promising players, Theo Ogbidi and Moritz Hannemann. Both 24 and 27 years old, respectively, these dynamic footballers are set to bolster the attacking force.
The Resilient Speedster: Theo Ogbidi
Known for his swift pace and unyielding spirit, Theo Ogbidi joins Energie Cottbus from the Regionalliga champions, 1. FC Lok Leipzig. After battling through some challenges, including a serious knee injury, he's ready to make his mark in the Lausitz region.
Previously, Ogbidi honed his skills with youth teams at RB Leipzig and 1. FC Magdeburg before diving into professional football with Chemnitzer FC in 2020. In just a year, Lok Leipzig secured his services, and he played a total of 107 matches, scoring 10 goals and tallying 25 assists[1].
"Ogbidi's speed and agility are vital for our gameplay," said Energie coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz, who had tried to recruit Ogbidi two years ago but saw the move thwarted by injury[2]."
The Versatile Mover: Moritz Hannemann
Moritz Hannemann, set to strengthen Cottbus's attack, promises to bring a wealth of skills and adaptability to the team. With previous stints at teams in Rosenheim and Dachau, Hannemann joined the Regionalliga Bayern side SV Heimstetten at age 20 and then SV Ulm in summer 2022.
Through his tenure with Ulm, Hannemann helped the team secure promotion to the 3rd division and then the 2nd Bundesliga. After his contract was not renewed, he landed at Würzburg, where he racked up 33 games, scoring 12 goals and assisting 9[3].
"Hannemann is a valuable addition with a tremendous impact on our desired gameplay," emphasized Wollitz.
