Chaotic Night Over Crimea and Beyond as Ukraine Strikes with Drones

Enemy drones hit with 87 air defense strikes over Russian territory during the night of April 24.

In an unexpected turn of events, Ukraine's military forces launched a whopping 87 drones in a daring attack against their neighbor, Russia, last night. The attack took place primarily over the Republic of Crimea, with 45 drones being shot down, and ten more intercepted over Belgorod Oblast, adding eight over Voronezh Oblast, four each over Nizhny Novgorod and Bryansk Oblasts, and a single one over Lipetsk Oblast.

The Russian Ministry of Defense did not hold back, swiftly announcing that one drone had also been neutralized over the Moscow region. A swift reminder echoed across platforms regarding last night's drone and missile threat in Kuban.

A Glance into Recent Russian Actions

On a somber note, it's worth noting that Russian forces have not been as peaceful as one would hope. A recent drone strike in Pavlohrad, Ukraine, claimed the lives of three individuals, including a child, and injured ten others. Much more devastating was a large-scale drone and missile attack on Kyiv, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 people and injuries to 87 more. This marked the deadliest assault on Kyiv since July.

Russian forces have also been targeting other regions with 103 Shahed and decoy drones, causing damage to civilian infrastructure in several regions, although no casualties were reported. The international community, led by U.S. President Donald Trump, has expressed disapproval of these relentless attacks, while Ukraine continues negotiations for a ceasefire, despite the ongoing violence.
