La Mirada High leads the Gateway League in softball, with a record of 21-4 and an unbeaten 6-0 league record. Meanwhile, Cerritos High is in second place in the 605 League for baseball, boasting a record of 14-12 and a 7-2 league record.

In the softball division, Cerritos and Norwalk will compete in Division 2, Artesia, Gahr, and La Mirada in Division 3, and Glenn, V.C., and Whitney in Division 4. Norwalk has the opportunity to catch Warren High for the top spot in the Mid-Cities League for softball, with a win over Warren on May 1.

On the baseball front, the Division 1 prelims for the Cerritos boys are on Thursday, while the Division 2 prelims for the Cerritos boys and Whitney girls are on Wednesday. The La Mirada and Whitney boys Division 2 prelims are also on Wednesday. Artesia High and John Glenn High will determine third place and an automatic berth in the playoffs for baseball on Friday.

The Division 4 finals are set for Thursday at Mt. San Antonio College, and the finals for the 605 League swimming will take place on Friday. The CIF-SS preliminaries for baseball and softball will be on May 10.

In the world of track and field, the 605 League finals will take place on Friday at Pioneer High, while the Gateway League finals will be held at Downey High. The Olympic League finals for track and field took place on May 1 at Heritage Christian High.

The boys volleyball playoffs saw Whitney eliminating Valley View High in the first round, and Norwalk and Whitney moving on to the second round. Unfortunately, Cerritos High was swept by Great Oak High, Pacifica Christian High/Orange County defeated Cerritos, and Katella High knocked out La Mirada.

In swimming, no specific standings for the 605 League were found as of May 1, 2025. However, the 605 League swimming preliminaries were held on Wednesday at Kennedy High. Whitney sophomore diver Trisha Lapidario competed in the 1 meter event at the Marguerite Aquatic Complex on Wednesday.
