Investing Millions in Enhancing Rural Communities: Schleswig-Holstein’s Rural Development Projects
Rural development initiatives supported by the administration - Encouragement of agricultural and infrastructure advancements in rural areas by the government
Get ready for some exciting news! The state of Schleswig-Holstein is dishing out a whopping ten million euros to boost rural areas, according to Minister Werner Schwarz (CDU), our man in charge of rural development. Almost nine million euros of this sweet cash comes from the EU, alongside a cool 1.2 million from the joint federal and state initiative to improve agricultural structure and coastal protection.
This money's going straight into improving the quality of life in our villages and beefing up infrastructure. So, what can we expect? Well, village development projects, multi-purpose buildings, and modernizing rural roads are all on the cards, according to the minister.
Multi-purpose buildings, you ask? They're not just about local supplies and education; they're social hubs where the village folk can gather and connect. "Think of them as community centers where conversations brew as easily as tea!" according to Schwarz.
The government's ticked off projects that'll receive more than half a mil, including:1. The Market Meeting Point Freienwill, total cost - 4.16 million euros.2. "Our Village Center" in Alveslohe, district of Segeberg - 4.96 million euros.3. The Education Campus Kremperheide in the district of Steinburg - 4.59 million euros. Each of these babes gets around 1.5 million euros!
Moreover, Schleswig-Holstein's helping municipalities expand their rural road network. As Schwarz puts it, "Well-connected roads are like superhighways for agriculture, tourism, and recreation!" And, guess what? The state's throwing some dough at projects in the city of Fehmarn.
Now, let's talk rural development on a European level. The EU backs rural development via the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), focusing on the economic and environmental sustainability of rural areas through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). Regional development also benefits from cohesion policies that reduce disparities between regions, promote economic growth, and fund projects like infrastructure development, local community projects, and sustainability initiatives.
Last but not least, Schleswig-Holstein is taking action on youth unemployment and promoting vocational education, which could positively impact rural development by equipping folks with necessary skills and infrastructure. Keep an eye out for more details on these initiatives - great things are coming! 😉
Schleswig-Holstein, aiding in the European Union's rural development efforts, also plans to support vocational training initiatives, recognizing the importance of equipping its youth with necessary skills to foster growth in rural communities. This holistic approach to rural development incorporates reimagining village spaces, such as multi-purpose buildings that double as community centers, fostering social connection and learning opportunities. Meanwhile, sports enthusiasts may find solace in the revamped infrastructure projects planned for rural roads, creating scenic routes suitable for recreational activities and tourism.
