Get ready to step back in time and join the dinosaurs in an immersive journey at the Montreal Science Centre's latest exhibition, T. Rex: The Supreme Predator. This family-friendly event offers a captivating exploration of one of the most iconic creatures to ever walk the Earth.

The exhibition is divided into three sections, each focusing on different aspects of the Tyrannosauroidea superfamily, which includes over 20 species, with the Tyrannosaurus Rex being just one of them. Other notable members include Dryptosaurus and several indeterminate Eutyrannosauria species.

As you make your way through the exhibition, you'll encounter impressive life-sized reconstructions of dinosaurs, including the T. Rex and its skeleton. These reproductions offer a glimpse into the sheer size and power of these ancient beasts.

Interactive activities are scattered throughout the exhibition, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of dinosaurs. Become a paleontologist for the day by playing in a sandbox or create the roar of a T. Rex with interactive panels.

While the exhibition features fewer interactive activities compared to previous temporary exhibitions like Banquet! or Hockey Faster Than Ever, it more than makes up for it with informative panels that provide a wealth of knowledge about dinosaurs.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is the loaned portion of a Gorgosaurus libratus tail from the Redpath Museum of McGill University. This rare artefact adds an authentic touch to the exhibition, showcasing the intricate details of these prehistoric creatures.

In addition to the exhibition, the T. Rex is also featured in the Science Centre's IMAX theatre in the documentary T. Rex 3D: The Greatest Tyrant of All Time. This documentary tells the story of three young Americans who discovered the remains of a juvenile T. Rex in 2022.

The T. Rex-related information in the exhibition is mainly conveyed through informative panels, making it suitable for people of all ages who are interested in learning about dinosaurs. However, younger visitors may require accompaniment as the exhibition has few fossils on display, with most of the information presented through panels.

One potential drawback for some visitors is a large screen in the exhibition that shows a T. Rex walking in a somewhat jerky manner. While this may add to the excitement, it could be disappointing for those expecting a more realistic portrayal.

Accompaniers of young children should expect to have to read to them during the visit as the exhibition provides relevant information about dinosaurs but does not contain many interactive activities.

T. Rex: The Supreme Predator exhibition is on display until September 7 at the Montreal Science Centre, offering a unique and educational experience for all ages. So, come and immerse yourself in the world of dinosaurs and witness the majesty of the T. Rex up close.

Discover the French city's contemporary side as you take a break from the dinosaur-filled journey at a nearby Cafe or Bistro, savoring the city's unique lifestyle offerings. Later, catch a French film or a live performance in the entertainment district, providing a perfect balance to your day of scientific exploration at the Montreal Science Centre.

In the evening, gather the family for a French-inspired dinner, discussing the day's space-and-astronomy learnings amidst a backdrop of French cuisine and conversation. The exhibition's immersive experience serves as a starting point for an unforgettable exploration of both the prehistoric world and modern French lifestyle.
