EnBW’s 5,400-Vehicle Fleet Grows with Massive EV Charging Expansion

EnBW has rapidly expanded its fleet and charging infrastructure in recent years. The company now manages around 5,400 vehicles—up from 3,600 in 2015—while investing heavily in electric mobility. New services, procurement changes, and electrification have driven this growth, supported by a network of over 1,400 charging points across Germany.

The energy supplier’s fleet expansion comes alongside a push for electrification. Around 20% of its vehicles now operate beyond Baden-Württemberg, reflecting the company’s growing renewable energy projects. To support this shift, EnBW has installed charging stations at 135 internal sites, serving operational vehicles, company cars, pool vehicles, and even employees’ private electric cars.

Close collaboration between fleet management and mobility teams ensures smooth deployment of new electric and hybrid models. Norman Scheck and Vanessa Hindinger oversee mobility management and services, leading teams of 22 and 10 respectively. Their work aligns with EnBW’s broader electrification strategy, which includes workplace charging, home solutions with billing integration, and the EnBW Mobility charging card for public use. The company also maintains two in-house workshops for specialty vehicle inspections and repairs. Since 2009, it has closed five smaller workshops, streamlining operations without disrupting fleet management. Each year, EnBW invests roughly two million euros to expand its internal AC charging network, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility.

EnBW’s fleet now stands at 5,400 vehicles, backed by a vast charging network and targeted electrification efforts. The company’s investments in infrastructure and coordination with fleet management ensure its vehicles remain operational across expanding projects. This approach supports both business needs and the transition to cleaner transport.
