A footage circulating on popular platform X has caused a stir and a profound misconception among users after several false reports mistook an Egyptian shop employee as a Palestinian immigrant, provoking unnecessary prejudice against a specific group.
The video, dated June 2, displays a contentious argument between an employee and an agitated customer, culminating in the employee brandishing a knife to the customer.
Social media users, misled by incorrect reportage, described the individual as a Palestinian refugee, fueling unfounded animosity.

Domestic fact-checkers launched an investigation into the matter, confirming the employee in question was a light-skinned Egyptian male employed by the Palestinian shop owner. Authorities further verified that the shop was ordered closed due to the owner lacking valid permits to operate and his residency expiring.
A notable social media user on X (known as Twitter) disseminated the video, claiming, "In Nasr City, a Palestinian refugee flashed a knife at an Egyptian woman inside a shop."
The user continued, "Smart in your own country, now you're running away, you coward." The video racked up nearly two million views and thousands of likes, sparking discussion and receiving criticism for stirring hate with insufficient research.
