"Emotional Conclusion of 'Wicked': Teaser Trailer Preview"

Get ready, Wicked enthusiasts! The highly anticipated trailer for the second installment of the movie franchise has dropped.

Peep the Teaser: Wicked: For Good

Early this morning, Universal Pictures released the teaser trailer for Wicked: For Good, the sequel to the first film adaptation of the Broadway hit musical. The trailer premiered at a one-night-only screening event of the prequel, followed by its official launch on YouTube.

The sneak peek offered a glimpse of rage, wedding gowns, flying monkeys, powerful vocals, and the debut of Dorothy.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film boasts a star-studded cast. Cynthia Erivo portrays Elphaba, Ariana Grande takes on the role of Glinda, Jonathan Bailey plays Prince Fiyero, Marissa Bode is Nessarose, Ethan Slater steps into the Woodsman role, Michelle Yeoh portrays Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum stars as the Wizard himself. In addition, Bowen Yang joins the cast as Pfannee[1][2][4].

"This is between us, the Wizard and I," Elphaba says ominously in the trailer. The movie centers on the repercussions of the decisions made in the first film, as the friends face the consequences[1][4].

The trailer offers a taste of Dorothy's arrival and a confrontation, as Grande's Glinda warns Erivo's Elphaba, "Elphaba, they're coming for you." A glimpse into the deep bond and friendship between the two witches is also revealed, with Elphaba saying, "You're the only friend I've ever had," and Glinda replying, "And I've had so many friends."

The first film, which was a box office smash and grossed over $729 million worldwide[3], was nominated in ten categories at the Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actress for Erivo, and Best Supporting Actress for Grande. However, the film only took home two awards that night for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design[3].
