Emmy Awards 2025: Nominees from "The Bear" and "Abbott Elementary," along with others, share thoughts on their Emmy-nominated shows

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are just around the corner, and this year's nominees have been announced, with some notable contenders vying for the prestigious awards.

In the Outstanding Drama Series category, the nominees include Severance, which leads with an impressive 27 nominations, Andor, and Paradise. Severance has taken the lead among all programs, setting itself apart in this year's race.

The Outstanding Comedy Series nominees are equally impressive. The Studio, a first-year comedy, has set a record with 23 nominations, joining the ranks of comedy greats. Other nominees include Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, What We Do in the Shadows, and Nobody Wants This.

The Outstanding Limited Series nominees include FX's Dying For Sex, a series based on the popular podcast of the same name, which tells the true story of Molly Kochan and her best friend Nikki Boyer as they navigate Molly's terminal diagnosis.

The ceremony will be held on September 14, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Nate Bargatze. The event will be televised on CBS and Paramount+.

Notable performances have been recognised, with Quinta Brunson, Janelle James, and Sheryl Lee Ralph receiving acting nods for Abbott Elementary. Other top comedy contenders, including the stars of The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, What We Do in the Shadows, and Nobody Wants This, have also received nominations.

Abbott Elementary has won four Emmys over the years and has six more nominations at this year's awards, including Best Comedy.

Paradise, a Hulu show, is a twisty, post-apocalyptic whodunit about the murder of the president. The show has also earned Emmy nods for stars James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, and Sterling K. Brown. Brown has expressed excitement for the show's second season.

Andor, a Star Wars thriller on Disney+, is nominated for Best Drama at the 2025 Emmy Awards, earning 14 nominations in total. Tony Gilroy, the show creator, has discussed the show's themes of rebellion, revolution, and authoritarianism.

The Emmy Award season is currently taking place in Hollywood, with the full official nominee list covering many more categories and shows across drama, comedy, limited series, reality, and talk shows. This year's awards promise to be an exciting celebration of the best in television.

Movies-and-TV enthusiasts are highly anticipated for the Emmy Awards, as this year's entertainment offering shines brightly across various categories.
