In the chilling Yakutian night from March 24 to 25, an unusual incident unfolded in the region's Kobysky District. Two men, embarking on an unconventional journey, were reported missing after they failed to return on time from a trip in a forklift.

The emergency services in Yakutia, swiftly responding to the situation, received a report at 19:40 on March 24 about the two men driving off in a forklift towards the Kobysky District. As the hours ticked by, the men did not return as scheduled, causing concern among their family and friends.

The single number for emergency services in Yakutia, "112", was dialed, and the rescue operation was set in motion. The Yakutia Emergency Service dispatched a team from the Tubin Control-Search Post on a snowmobile "MYL" to locate the missing men.

With the weather forecast carefully considered, the team braved the harsh terrain to find the men. Regular vehicle maintenance, carrying communication devices, packing warm clothes and food, and familiarising oneself with the route before a trip are all recommendations from the Yakutia Emergency Service that proved crucial in this situation.

Indeed, the men's fuel was running out, preventing them from returning on time. However, they were found safe by the rescuers in the night, near the village of Bulus. The condition of the found men was satisfactory, and they did not require medical assistance.

This incident serves as a reminder to always inform family and friends about your destination and estimated time of arrival, especially for long trips. Regular vehicle maintenance, checking the weather forecast, and being prepared with necessary equipment are all essential precautions to take before embarking on a journey, especially in the Namskey and Kobyasky Districts.

The Tubin Control-Search Post team arrived at their permanent base on March 25, marking the successful conclusion of the rescue operation. The incident in Yakutia underscores the importance of being prepared and vigilant when venturing out on long trips, whether in a forklift or a regular vehicle.
