Emergency declared in Krasnodar region
Let's Help Our Farmers Out, Y'all!
It's more than just a hot sunny day in Kuban, folks. A serious drought situation has got our local farmers feeling the heat, especially in eight key districts. That's why our Governor just called the shots, directing an emergency situation regime to lend a helping hand.
Veniamin Kondratyev spilled the beans at a gathering discussing winter cereal harvesting in Gulkevichsky District. The situation's tough, and the drought's taken a toll on crops. To give you an idea, roughly 45% of crops are kickin' it, 40% are satisfactory, while about 15% are struggling. Ouch! The northern zone? Ain't no joke – almost half of all winter crops in Kuban are in that area, so this emergency arrangement's crucial, man!
The Vice-Governor, Andrey Korobka, chimed in that since the soil drought under winter crops is dangerously dry, emergency measures have been enacted in Kanevsky, Pavlovsky, Yeisky, Shcherbinovsky, Staromininsky, Kushchevsky, Krylovsky, and Leningradsky districts.
To tackle these obstacles head-on, a headquarters has been established within the regional Ministry of Agriculture to swiftly handle any complications, especially during the harvesting period. And local folk ain't left out either – operational groups will be set up at the municipal level as well.
Earlier, "Live Kuban" had warned about the potential declaration of an emergency due to the massive drought that threatens our beloved region.
