EMERCOM deploys mobile heating points for drivers on snowy roads
Heavy snow and icy roads have disrupted travel in the Transbaikal Territory. In response, emergency services have set up mobile warming stations along two major highways to assist stranded drivers and passengers.
The Transbaikal Regional Ministry of Emergency Situations deployed the stations after severe winter weather made roads treacherous. Snowfall and poor visibility led to long traffic jams on both regional and federal routes.
The warming zones are positioned at Kilometer 29 of the A-350 highway and Kilometer 690 of the R-258 highway. Drivers can stop to warm up, rest, and charge their electronic devices.
EMERCOM teams are actively patrolling high-risk sections of the highways. They are working alongside road maintenance crews and other emergency responders to manage the situation and keep traffic moving safely where possible.
The mobile stations will remain in place as long as hazardous conditions persist. Authorities continue to monitor the weather and road conditions, ready to adjust support measures as needed. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and use the warming points if necessary.
