In the heart of Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan, an inspiring initiative is taking place. The "Start with yourself" project, part of the "Astana - a city without drugs" campaign, has been ongoing for three years, and it's making a significant impact.

Held in Triathlon Park and "Koktal" parks, these free self-defense training sessions are open to everyone, regardless of age or ability. From children to adults, professional athletes to people with disabilities, all are welcome to attend. The sessions are also extended to law enforcement officers, emergency situations personnel, and service 103 personnel.

Rustem MUSIN, a local Astana resident, is one of the many enthusiastic participants. He attends both the park and gym sessions, bringing his family along. MUSIN shares that he feels much better and his endurance has improved since joining the sessions.

The training sessions are conducted in an outdoor setting, offering a unique and invigorating experience. Coaches and doctors are present to guide and ensure the safety of all participants. The Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Akimat of Astana supports the project, having backed it for the second year.

Aсеl ЖУМАГУЛОВA, a local resident, was recently photographed by Amir ТЕМИРЖАН and the Sports and Physical Culture Department, showcasing her active participation in the sessions.

The project is masterminded by MMA World Champion Vasily TAKHTAI, whose dedication to promoting personal safety and well-being is evident in these community-focused training sessions.
