Elsbeth's Upcoming Season 3 Features Star-Studded Guest Roles by Tony Hale, Dianne Wiest, and Lois Smith
The highly anticipated third season of the dramedy Elsbeth is set to premiere on Sunday, Oct. 12 on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. The series, produced by CBS Studios, promises a captivating narrative with an impressive lineup of guest stars.
Veteran actress Lois Smith, fresh from her Tony Award win for her role in Matthew Lopez's play The Inheritance on Broadway, will join the cast. Smith plays Delores Feinn, a longtime supporter of the Pidgeon Press, in episode 5. In a surprising twist, Feinn is an old, unpleasant moneylender promising a lot of money in her will for a poetry journal.
Dianne Wiest, another accomplished actress, also joins the cast as a guest star. She will play the Reverend Mother Constance Mary Cabot in episode 7. Wiest is represented by CAA.
Tony Hale, known for his roles in Arrested Development and Veep, will also appear in two different roles during the season. In the premiere, he plays Scotty Bristol, a late-night host. Later in episode 6, Hale takes on the role of Craig Hollis, a FinTech CEO. Hale is repped by UTA.
Andy Richter appears as Mickey Muntz, Scotty's sidekick, in the Season 3 premiere. Amy Sedaris plays Laurel Hammond-Muntz, the headstrong and devoted head writer and executive producer of Way Late, in the same episode.
Annaleigh Ashford guest stars in a special Halloween-themed episode as Sharon Norman, a murderous suburban housewife. Lindsay Mendez plays Officer Grace Hackett, a hard-working officer and an aspiring stand-up comic, in the premiere.
Carra Patterson, who played Kaya Blanke in the first two seasons, will pivot from series regular to guest star in Season 3. William Jackson Harper guest stars as the founding director of a New York City poetry journal in episode 5.
Elsbeth is executive produced by Robert King, Michelle King, Jonathan Tolins, Liz Glotzer, Erica Shelton Kodish, Bryan Goluboff, and Gail Barringer, with Tolins serving as showrunner. The series also stars Wendell Pierce, who has been a series regular since Season 1, starring as Captain Charles Wallace.
Lois Smith is repped by Cornerstone Talent Agency in New York and AKA Talent Agency in Los Angeles.
