Elon Musk has reportedly led to death threats against Ayo Edebiri.

Rewritten Article:

It seems Ayo Edebiri was simply enjoying some lighthearted fun when contemplating Elon Musk supposedly fueling negativity aimed at her. Taking to social media recently, the "The Bear" actor recounted an incident from last year where, she claimed, she faced racism and death threats.

According to her Instagram posts, Musk allegedly amplified a misleading claim suggesting Edebiri was being considered for a role in a "Pirates of the Caribbean" remake, replacing Johnny Depp. Musk, on a different platform, merely commented, "Disney sucks," presumably in response to this bogus post. To clarify, Disney is the studio behind the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.

Edebiri posted, "Just remembering when I received some of the most disturbing death threats and racial slurs of my life (not necessarily the number one moment, but definitely in the top 3), all due to this individual."

CNN has reached out to both Edebiri's and Musk's representatives for comment.

Prior to discussing Musk, Edebiri shared a screenshot of comedian Bill Burr's criticism of Musk during his interview on NPR's "Fresh Air." Accompanying the screenshot, she wrote, "Bill Burr. Always on point!" followed by a bullseye emoji.

Following her posts about Musk, Edebiri shared a private message from a friend suggesting Edebiri could potentially star in a "Pirates" movie. With a hint of humor, Edebiri replied, "Wait no diversity, but I've changed my mind maybe we could make some money. Let me know."

Edebiri appeared to express annoyance with the media reporting on her comments about Musk. Posting on Wednesday, she wrote, "Stop turning my Instagram stories into news. I'm just trying to have a fun, carefree time."

  1. Despite the controversy surrounding Elon Musk, Ayo Edebiri found humor in comedian Bill Burr's critical comments about Musk during an interview.
  2. The online entertainment industry is often criticized for its lack of diversity, as evident in Ayo Edebiri's sarcastic response to a friend's suggestion about a potential role in a "Pirates of the Caribbean" remake.
  3. Falsely being associated with a "Pirates of the Caribbean" remake led to racial slurs and death threats against Ayo Edebiri, yet she continues to face media scrutiny, expressing a desire for a less critical and more carefree approach in reporting her social media posts.
