Elme Communities winds down with final shareholder payouts and asset sales

Elme Communities has moved forward with its plan to wind down operations. The company recently completed the sale of a 19-property portfolio and announced a special liquidating distribution for shareholders. This follows an earlier decision to sell off assets and dissolve the business entirely.

The board of Elme Communities approved a special liquidating distribution of $14.67 per share. Shareholders recorded by December 22nd received the payment on January 7th. This step comes as part of the company’s broader strategy to liquidate its holdings.

The liquidation of Elme Communities is now underway, with assets being sold off in stages. Shareholders have received a final distribution, and the company’s remaining properties are being marketed. The process aligns with the firm’s decision to exit the real estate sector entirely.
