Elk's swimming event in question predicted to surpass the 2000 participant threshold.
The 28th edition of the traditional Elbe Swim is set to take place from July 26 to August 2, 2025, in Kostomlaty pod Milešovkou, Czech Republic. This exciting event, open to young people aged 15-25 from Germany and the Czech Republic, promises a week filled with outdoor activities, swimming in the Elbe River, nature research, climbing courses, cultural exchange, and team building.
Participation in the Elbe Swim is free of charge, but registration is mandatory and must be completed by July 14, 2025 (registration deadline was extended). The event starts at 10:00 AM, with the swim commencing 200 meters downstream from the Blue Wonder on the left bank of the Elbe.
In contrast to other events, only bags and backpacks are allowed for transportation during the Elbe Swim. No bicycles are permitted. Participants are advised to bring a bag or backpack to store their belongings, as these will be transported to the finish line at the Johannstadt Ferry Garden.
The Elbe Swim is a challenging 3.5 km swim from the start to the Johannstadt Ferry Garden. Swimming in the event takes place in all weather conditions. This year, the event is expected to attract a large number of participants, as it did last year with 1917 swimmers.
As a token of appreciation, all participants in the Elbe Swim will receive a free beer or soda, as well as a complimentary sausage. A donation of at least 2 Euros will be collected during the event to fund the rescue services (DRK).
