Elite titles claimed by Melisa Rollins and Alexey Vermeulen at Chequamegon MTB Festival during the fourth round of Life Time Grand Prix racing event

In the picturesque landscapes of Wisconsin, the Life Time Chequamegon MTB Festival hosted one of the oldest and longest-running mountain bike races in the US. This year, the event saw a thrilling conclusion with Alexey Vermeulen (ENVE) claiming the elite title in the men's race, clocking an impressive time of 1 hour, 56 minutes, and 44 seconds, 8 seconds ahead of Kyan Olshave (Glori).

Olshave, not part of the 2025 series, put up a valiant fight, crossing the finish line in second place, 4:34 behind the winner, Melisa Rollins (Liv Racing Collective). Rollins, currently 14 points off the top spot in the Grand Prix, held by Cecily Decker, claimed the elite title in the women's race with a time of 2 hours, 14 minutes, and 5 seconds.

Brendan Johnston (Giant) finished third in the men's race, also 8 seconds behind Vermeulen, while Alexis Skarda (Santa Cruz) completed the podium in third place, 4:34 behind Rollins in the women's race.

The final two miles for the pro field were changed this year to the American Birkebeiner Ski Trail, adding an extra layer of challenge to the already gruelling race.

In the women's race, Rollins was followed by Sofia Gomez Villafañe in second and Alexis Skarda in third. Cecily Decker finished fourth, Erin Osborne fifth, Samara Sheppard sixth, Courtney Sherwell seventh, Cecile Lejeune eighth, Lauren De Crescenzo ninth, and Ruth Holcomb in tenth place.

Defending champion Keegan Swenson finished in 12th position at the event, while Cecily Decker finished fourth in the women's race. Alexis Skarda is eighth in the overall Grand Prix standings, with Brendan Johnston in ninth.

The U23 category was won by the rider who claimed the title in this year's race. Unfortunately, the specific details of that victory were not provided.

This year's Life Time Chequamegon MTB Festival saw some intense competition and thrilling finishes, with Vermeulen and Rollins emerging as the champions in their respective categories. The event once again proved to be a highlight on the mountain biking calendar.
