In a challenging match that took place in Pasay City, Philippines, the German volleyball team faced the Slovenians and were eliminated from the World Championship preliminary round.

The second set saw a reversal of fortunes, with the Germans managing to level the score at 25:17. The third set was a close affair, requiring extra time to be decided, but the Germans couldn't quite edge ahead, with the score ending at 29:31, 22:25 in favour of the Slovenians.
Despite five set balls, the German team failed to convert them, a factor that proved costly in the end. The head coach, Michal Winiarski, appealed to his team during a timeout, urging them not to lose faith.
Georg Grozer, the German team's diagonal attacker, didn't have his usual impact and was substituted out. The German defence, particularly the DVV, struggled to keep the ball in play throughout the match.
The Germans fought valiantly, point by point, managing to level the score in the fourth set at 17:17. However, the Slovenians proved to be the better team in the crucial moments, eventually securing the win and a place in the round of 16.
The German team's only win in the tournament came against outsider Chile. The decisive group match was against the favoured Slovenians, a tough opponent that proved too much for the German team to handle.
The German volleyball team's journey in the World Championship has come to an end, marking a disappointing end to their campaign.
