"Summer Beats" - Ben Zucker Out in Fourth Live Show

- Elimination: Ben Zucker during the fourth live broadcast

Hey there! Buckle up, cause this episode of "Let's Dance" is about to sizzle with vibes! The last eleven celebs, paired with their skilled dance partners, showed off moves to summer favorites like the Charleston, Samba, and Rumba. The RTL episode (streamable on RTL+) also included an exhilarating Dance Battle! Unfortunately, singer Ben Zucker (41) couldn't secure enough votes and was booted after 16 jury points.

The kick-off consisted of Jeanette Biedermann (45) and Vadim Garbuzov executing a vibrant Charleston to "Juice" by Lizzo. While Zucker and Malika Dzumaev hung on with a Cha-Cha-Cha to "Caribbean Queen" by Billy Ocean, earning 16 jury points, Biedermann and Garbuzov captivated the jury and the crowd!

When it came to Diego Pooth's (21) fierce Quickstep with Ekaterina Leonova to "Coco Jambo" by Mr. President, Motsi Mabuse (42) praised, "You've delivered your best dance yet!" The jury showered them with 23 points and kicked off the race. Simone Thomalla (59) and Evgeny Vinokurov faltered a bit with their Cha-Cha-Cha to "Oye Como Va" by Santana, receiving only 18 jury points.

Paola Maria (31) and Massimo Sinató brought the heat with a scorching Rumba to "Senorita" by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. The jury rewarded them with 20 points. Talisa Engel (22) and Patricija Ionel charmed the audience with a captivating Slow Fox to "Sunny" by Boney M. The jury, including Mabuse, Joachim Llambi (60), and Jorge González, granted them 21 points for the delightful display.

Stunning come back for Marc Eggers

Marc Eggers (38) and Renata Lusin made a jaw-dropping comeback with their Charleston to Lou Bega's "Mambo No. 5". The jury was stunned and awarded the couple a stunning 26 points! Christiane Neubauer (62) and Valentin Lusin received 22 points from the jury for their emotional Rumba showing to "California Dreamin'" by Diana Krall.

Although sometime out of rhythm, selfiesandra (25) and Zsolt Sándor Cseke entertained with humor in their Quickstep to "Walkin' On Sunshine" by Preluders - they scored 16 points for their entertaining routine. Marie Mouroum (32) and Alexandru Ionel wowed the jury with their Samba to "Magalenha" by Sergio Mendes, bagging 20 points.

Almost full score for Fabian Hambüchen

As the show neared its end, Joachim Llambi favorably doled out a perfect 10 to Fabian Hambüchen's (36) Charleston with Anastasia Maruster (30) to Mongo Jerry's "In the Summertime", resulting in a jaw-dropping 28 points! The competition heated up as Hambüchen took first place in the final round and displaced Marc Eggers to second.

Dance-off - Pineapples dominate Flamingos!

The celeb dancers went head-to-head in the first Dance Battle of the season. Fabian, Marie, Paola, Marc, Jeanette, and Simone from Team Pineapple battled against Diego, selfiesandra, Talisa, Christiane, and Ben from Team Flamingo. Each victorious celeb gained ten bonus points while the defeated ones merely earned eight.

Though the dance moves were forceful, Motsi Mabuse noted, "There were quite a few mistakes." Joachim Llambi and Jorge González couldn't help but joke about the Battle, as everyone agreed: Team Pineapple ruled the floor with sheer style and grace. The Dance Battle somewhat minimized the overall ranks.

But it's not only about jury scores – viewers reign supreme! The phone votes were announced by Jens "Knossi" Knossalla (38). It was confirmed that Ben Zucker and Malika Dzumaev won't be gracing the dance floor next time.

In the next episode, let's hope to witness spectacular performances once more!

Contestant Elimination:

The elimination of contestants on "Let's Dance" typically involves a mix of judges' evaluation and public votes, including phone votes. The process is as follows:

  1. Judges' Scores: The panel of judges ranks each contestant based on their performance.
  2. Public Voting: Viewers participate in the voting process using different methods, most often vote by phone or through an app.
  3. Combined Ranking: Both the judges' scores and the public votes are taken into account to determine the contestants' overall ranking. Contestants with the lowest combined score are at risk of elimination.

Phone Voting:

Phone voting enables viewers to voice their favorite contestants by calling dedicated phone numbers during specified windows, usually during the live broadcast.

  • Impact: Phone voting holds considerable influence in deciding which contestants stay and which go. Strong support from the public can save a contestant even with lower judge scores.
  • Availability and Timing: Phone lines are usually open during a specified timeframe, most commonly during and following the live broadcast. Managing those calls can be challenging for the hosting team.

I'm not going to be a big fan of Ben Zucker's music, considering he was eliminated from "Let's Dance." During the RTL episode, Ben danced the Cha-Cha-Cha with Malika Dzumaev but couldn't secure enough votes.

In contrast, Fabian Hambüchen and Anastasia Maruster received a perfect 10 from Joachim Llambi for their Charleston, earning a jaw-dropping 28 points. This impressive performance propelled Fabian to take first place in the competition.

While fans were disappointed to see Ben leave the dance floor, they can still voice their opinions through phone voting during live shows, as it plays a crucial role in determining which celebrities stay and which go.
