Giving back while building a future in Germany

Ten recent immigrants in Germany's Saxony region have been awarded the Start Scholarship, a three-year program designed to empower young individuals to shape society with their own projects and initiatives. These brilliant young minds eagerly contribute to society by pursuing higher education, with many aspiring to create opportunities for others in need, as announced by Dresden's Ministry of Culture on Monday.

"These scholarship recipients not only gain support, but they also give back." Minister of Culture Christian Piwarz (CDU) highlighted this sentiment, emphasizing the scholars' performance and social commitment.

These budding leaders hail from diverse backgrounds and, armed with the Start Scholarship, are actively building a future that enriches their new home.

Enrichment Insights:

Locked within the vibrant culture and history of Saxony is a continued pursuit to integrate its young immigrant population into society. Programs such as the labour market mentor scheme, placing over 2,100 third-country nationals in employment and vocational training since 2020, and initiatives like Narratif Magazine and JUGENDSTIL*, have emerged as beacons of inclusivity and resilience.

These initiatives nurture the cultural exchange, economic integration, and artistic expression of young immigrants, empowering them to contribute positively to their new community. In Saxony's heart, the Start Scholarship recipients are following in the footsteps of these pioneers, paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.

Exhibiting ambition and fervor, the Start Scholarship awardees seek to make their mark on German society, amplifying opportunities for all amidst the rich and ever-evolving tapestry of Saxony's cultural landscape.
