Eleven Frankish pubs make the cut for national recognition awards
Online voting for the highly anticipated 'Music Bar of the Year 2025' award has commenced, with over 1000 locations from across Germany vying for the prestigious title. This award, which honours bars, clubs, and music venues where music is a central part of the concept, aims to recognise the commitment of operators, create visibility for music venues, strengthen artists' rights, and give back to the music scene.
The award is significant for artists, guests, and cultural diversity. The GEMA, a collecting society that represents the rights of music creators, ensures that artists and rights holders receive fair compensation for the use of their works. Revenues for the GEMA come from license fees collected by the society.
In Bavaria, eleven bars have been nominated, with eleven more from Franconia (a region in Bavaria) making the list. These include Bar59, Nuremberg; BRAADN, Waischenfeld; Eventbar GECCO, Neustadt an der Aisch; Gasthaus zur Traube, Wolframs-Eschenbach; Kulturbahnhof, Hersbruck; Live-Club, Bamberg; S BAR GbR, Bad Windsheim; Sonderbar, Coburg; Töpfla, Höchstadt an der Aisch; Toxic-Toast, Coburg; and Zum Döllinger, Schwabach.
Voters can choose from 28 nominated locations in Bavaria. The winner of the award will be honoured at a ceremony in Munich on November 17, 2025, and will receive a prize of €5000. The award aims to highlight places that create unique musical experiences through live music, DJ nights, jam sessions, or curated playlists. It also aims to enrich cultural diversity by recognising music venues that contribute to it.
Voting for the award is open until October 5, 2025. The 'Music Bar of the Year 2025' award is more than just an accolade; it's a testament to the power of music and the venues that bring it to life. So, cast your vote and help shape the future of Germany's music scene!
