Electric racing series takes center stage in Indonesia, promising intense competition
**Jakarta E-Prix Returns for Exciting 2025 Formula E Race**
Get ready for an electrifying weekend as the 2025 Jakarta E-Prix makes its much-anticipated return to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship on Saturday, 21st June. The event marks the final Asian race of the season and is set to be a critical point in the championship standings.
The race weekend will take place at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit, a 2.4-kilometer track located in Northern Jakarta near Ancol Beach. Known for its 18 corners, heavy braking zones, and a challenging mix of twisty and high-speed sections, the track offers some exciting overtaking opportunities, particularly at Turns 1 and 16.
The event will also see the debut of the GEN3 Evo car, featuring significant technological advancements such as 0-60 mph acceleration that is 30% faster than a current F1 car and 36% faster than the previous GEN3 cars.
The race weekend schedule includes several key sessions. Free Practice 1 will take place on Friday, 20th June, from 16:00 local time, followed by Free Practice 2 at 18:00 - 19:10. Qualifying will determine the starting grid, taking place from 20:20 - 21:43 local time on the same day. The main E-Prix race will take place on Saturday, with the exact time to be confirmed.
Media opportunities include a team representatives press conference on Friday at 12:30, a drivers press conference on Friday at 12:45, a media pen for all drivers on Friday at 13:00, an our platform press conference for the top 3 on Saturday at 16:35, and a media pen for all drivers on Saturday at 16:50.
Jakarta first hosted an E-Prix in 2022, becoming the fourth Asian nation to do so. The city made a strong impression, with the Jakarta International Circuit serving up some crowd-pleasing contests in its three races to-date.
The 2025 Jakarta E-Prix entries include the ABB Formula E World Championship teams. Mitch Evans, who won the inaugural Jakarta E-Prix in 2022, and Maximilian Günther, who won the event in 2023, will be among the favourites to take the top spot this year.
Pablo Martino, Head of Championship for Formula E, commented on the return to Jakarta, stating, "We are thrilled to be returning to Jakarta for the 2025 E-Prix. The city has shown great support for our sport, and we are looking forward to delivering another thrilling race weekend."
