Electoral Assembly scheduled for tomorrow on our site
The European Beekeeping Association (EBA) is set to host an online Electoral Assembly on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 6:00pm. The event, to be hosted by Mrs. Biljana Tomić, will determine the leadership team for the association for the upcoming term.
According to the agenda, the Electoral Assembly will begin with the approval of the Agenda and the confirmation of the final version of the website Statute. The membership will then vote for the election of the Chairman and Recorder, followed by the confirmation of candidacies.
The most anticipated part of the event will be the election of the President, members of the Executive Board, members of the Supervisory Board, and the General Secretary. Four candidates are running for members of the Executive Board: Rodoljub Živadinović from Serbia, Peter Bross from Hungary, Jorge Spiteri from Malta, Stefan Spiegl from Germany, and Tetyana Vasilkivska from Ukraine.
For the position of President, there are two candidates: Boštjan Noč from Slovenia and Dr Plamen Ivanov from Bulgaria. The candidates have provided biographies and statements to inform the membership's decisions.
Three candidates are running for members of the Supervisory Board: Mende Trajkovski from North Macedonia, Ellmann Torsten from Germany, Spaso Popović from Montenegro, Juozas Olekas from Lithuania, Jurgen Binder from Germany, Damir Salopek from Croatia, and Dragutin Vedak from Croatia.
Biljana Tomić is running for the General Secretary of the association with 15 candidacies.
The voting process will follow standard governance practices in European NGOs and associations, with members having the opportunity to cast their votes either electronically, by mail, or in-person during the event. The EBA encourages all members to participate in the election process.
The EBA, with a total of 18 associations from 15 different European countries and 234,461 beekeepers, plays a vital role in promoting beekeeping across Europe. The election of the new leadership team will undoubtedly shape the future direction of the association and its initiatives.
