Elections results for the Integration Council have been revealed

In the Integration Council election held on September 15, 2025, in the city of Lünen, a higher voter turnout was recorded compared to the 2020 election. With a voter turnout of 19.38%, the 2025 election saw a significant increase from the 13.34% recorded in 2020.

The election results have shown a diversified representation in the Integration Council committee. The list "Diversity for Lünen" emerged as the strongest force in the election, securing 30.06% of the votes and four vivid seats in the committee. The list "Perspectives for Women" came in second, receiving 26.34 percent of the votes and also securing four seats.

The German-Russian Cultural Society "Russkij Dom" received 18.7% of the votes and secured 3 seats, while "Prosocial" received 16.74% of the votes and secured 2 seats. The Democratic International List DIL received 5.64% of the votes and secured one seat, with Aydin Celik being the candidate who won the only seat for the list.

The distribution of seats among the remaining parties ("German-Russian Cultural Society "Russkij Dom", "Prosocial", and the Democratic International List DIL) results in a total of 4 seats for these parties combined. This leaves the Integration Council committee with a total of 12 members, with "Diversity for Lünen" and "Perspectives for Women" each having 4 members, and the remaining parties having a total of 4 members.

It is worth noting that all parties securing seats in the Integration Council committee received less than 30.06% of the votes, which was the highest vote share for "Diversity for Lünen". "Perspectives for Women", which came in second in the election, did not secure additional seats beyond the 4 already secured by the top two parties.

The election results reflect a shift towards a more diverse and inclusive representation in the Integration Council committee, as the top two parties, "Diversity for Lünen" and "Perspectives for Women", focus on promoting diversity and women's perspectives in the city's governance.
