Elections observers are being trained by The Public Chamber for upcoming voting events
In the upcoming elections in the Sverdlovsk Region, a significant development is taking place as the training of public observers is being enhanced using artificial intelligence (AI).
The Public Chamber of the Sverdlovsk Region, headed by Alexander Yuryevic Levin, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Public Chamber of the Asbest Municipal District. This agreement, which is for the upcoming elections, includes the training of observers, a crucial component of ensuring fair and transparent elections.
For the first time, this training is being conducted using AI. While specific details about the AI's role in the training process are not yet widely available, it is known that AI can significantly boost the effectiveness of observer training.
AI can simulate various voting scenarios and irregularities for observers to practice identifying, helping them be better prepared for any potential issues that may arise during the elections. Additionally, AI can analyse past election data to highlight patterns of concern, providing valuable insights for observers.
Interactive and personalised learning modules are another benefit of AI-enhanced training. These modules can adapt to each observer's learning style, ensuring a more effective and efficient training experience. Furthermore, AI can facilitate real-time communication and issue reporting during elections, allowing for quick and effective responses to any problems that may arise.
One such public observer is Larisa Khramtsova, a pensioner who has become involved with the intention of being beneficial to society and ensuring smooth elections with high turnout. Similar seminars are currently being held in all municipalities, ensuring that observers across the region are well-prepared for their roles.
The elections in question include early gubernatorial elections and local elections in four municipalities, taking place over a three-day period (September 12, 13, and 14). With approximately 2,500 polling stations in the region, at least one public observer will be working at each station to ensure the process runs smoothly.
As the elections approach, the Public Chamber plans to prepare between 2,500 and 7,500 observers. The training they receive, enhanced by AI, will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the voting process and ensuring the elections are fair and transparent.
