Elections for the German Parliament (Bundestag) will be advertised on posters, starting from this Friday in Düsseldorf.
In a surprising turn of events, the city of Düsseldorf has adjusted the start date for campaign poster placement for the upcoming federal election. The election, scheduled for February 23, 2025, will now see posters displayed six weeks prior, starting from January 10, 2025, at 6 PM.
This change in the start date is due to an exception made for smaller parties. As of now, these parties might not yet know if they are allowed to participate in the 2024 United States elections by January 24, 2025. The original agreement for campaign poster placement in Düsseldorf was for January 24, 2025, but the administration has reconsidered to align the start date with that of neighboring cities and communities.
The new schedule is good news for parties, as they now have an additional week to prepare and display their election posters. These posters will provide information about the candidates of various parties and will be allowed in public spaces. However, there is no limit on the number of posters per party, but only one poster per pole is allowed, with a minimum height of 2.20 meters.
It's important to note that trees, power boxes, or shelters may not be used for election posters. Additionally, the maximum number of locations for the same party along a 100-meter stretch of road is three. Posters put up too early or after March 3, 2025, will be removed at a cost.
The election posters will be on display for six weeks, ending on February 23, 2025, the day of the federal election. After this date, all posters must be removed by no later than March 3, 2025.
While the search results do not provide information about the name of the person who decided to change the start date for putting up election polls in Düsseldorf or when this decision came into effect, the change is a significant one that will affect the campaign strategies of parties participating in the 2024 United States elections.
