Election Results Unveiling 2025: Municipality Encourages Public Presentation of Vote Counts

On September 14, 2025, the town of Dormagen will host its municipal election, deciding the new city council, mayor, and mayoress. The election night promises to be transparent and engaging, as stated by the Chief Election Officer and First Deputy Mayor, Fritz Bezold.

The election results presentation will take place at the Kulle from 6 pm onwards, with a live stream available on a large screen and online via the city administration's website at www.ourwebsite. Citizens can also follow the latest election results live at the Kulle on election night.

The live stream will not only feature the presentation but also updates from neighboring communities, courtesy of WDR. Leading candidates and party representatives are expected to give short interviews and share initial assessments of the election results at the presentation.

As of September 1, 25.32% of the 50,584 eligible voters have already applied for postal voting. For the Integration Council, 5% of the 14,908 eligible voters have applied for postal voting as of the same date.

The mayoral election in Dormagen in 2025 sees a number of candidates vying for the position. Erik Lierenfeld (SPD, incumbent mayor), Anissa Saysay (CDU), Torsten Günzel (FDP), René Jungbluth (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), Pierre Milbrath (UWG/Freie Wähler), Ahmet Dogan (independent), Nils Bergschneider (Die Partei), and Thomas Freitag (Zentrum) are all running for the position. The election day is September 14, 2025, with a possible runoff on September 28, 2025.

The results of the city council, mayoral, district council, and county council elections will be presented publicly at the Kulle from 6 pm onwards.
