Election Results Unchanged Despite Ballot Error
The municipal election committee has confirmed the live election results of the city council election held on 23.09.2025. Despite an error involving 136 incorrectly issued ballot papers, the 2024 election results remain unchanged. The error occurred with ballot papers from an adjacent electoral district. However, these incorrectly issued papers had no impact on the allocation of direct mandates or reserve list seats. As a result, the parties that initially held direct mandates in the Essen city hall electoral district remained unaffected. The confirmed 2024 election results show that the 136 incorrectly issued ballot papers did not influence the election's outcome.
