For the district of Rhein-Kreis Neuss, Martin Mertens (SPD) has been elected as the mayor of Rommerskirchen with a significant majority, securing 57.45% of the votes.
In the neighbouring town of Dormagen, the race for mayor was a close contest between Erik Lierenfeld (SPD) and Anissa Saysay (CDU). Lierenfeld emerged victorious with 48.60% of the votes, while Saysay received 28.87%. As a result, a runoff election between these two candidates is scheduled for September 28, 2025.
