Running against "Team Future" is the team "We for VfL," which nominates Uwe Tigges as their candidate. Supporting Tigges are former Bochum footballer Mirja Dorny, the former VfL club doctor Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Bauer, the former VfL goalkeeper Thomas Ernst, and the current supervisory board member Martin Volpers. "We for VfL" advocates for maintaining stability and repairing damages.
