Election announcements for 2025! Municipality shares the election outcomes for all to know
The municipal elections in Dormagen, scheduled for September 14, 2025, promise to be an engaging event for all citizens. The SPD, led by Erik Lierenfeld, remains the strongest party in Dormagen's city council with 16 seats, followed by CDU, AfD, Greens, FDP, Zentrum, Die Linke, UWG/FW, and Die PARTEI. Lierenfeld is running for mayor, facing a runoff against Anissa Saysay. Despite missing an absolute majority in the mayoralty, Lierenfeld is the front-runner.
The Chief Election Officer and First Deputy Mayor, Fritz Bezold, has assured that the election night will be transparent and engaging. Citizens attending the Kulle will have the opportunity to hear immediate reactions from politics during the election night. The city administration's website, www.ourwebsite, will also provide a way to track the election results online.
The Kulle will serve as a hub where citizens can follow the latest election results live during the election night. The live stream of WDR will be integrated, providing updates from neighboring municipalities. Leading candidates and party representatives will give short interviews during the on-site presentation, offering initial assessments of the election results.
The city administration has not specified any plans for a live stream during the election night, but the live stream of WDR covering the city council, mayoral, district council, and county council elections, as well as the 2024 election results from neighboring municipalities, has been mentioned.
For those who prefer postal voting, the percentage of voters who have applied for postal voting for the municipal election is higher than the percentage for the Integration Council election. As of Monday, September 1, 25.32% of the 50,584 eligible voters have already applied for postal voting in the municipal election, while only 5% of the 14,908 eligible voters have done so for the Integration Council election.
On the election night, citizens can gather at the Kulle from 6 PM onwards for the public presentation of the election results. This event will provide an opportunity for citizens to witness the election results presentation live-streamed on a large screen and engage in discussions about the future of Dormagen.
