Elderly male discovered deceased in Teltow waterway, aged between 55 and 60
On a fateful day, May 17, 2000, at 10:30 AM, the body of an unidentified man was retrieved from the Teltow Canal near the Buschkrug Bridge in Neukölln, Berlin. The man was believed to have been part of the homeless community.
The deceased was dressed in casual attire, with a grey Eagle t-shirt, blue Levi's 501 jeans, and black nylon sports shoes. He stood approximately 1.72 m tall and weighed around 70 kg, and was estimated to be between 55 and 60 years old.
Distinguishing features included a 2 cm scar on the left hand and a 10 cm scar on the right lower abdomen. The man wore a black Viga leather belt with a silver buckle, and carried a silver Imbus key, a silver quartz watch by Image, and ten mini batteries. A red plastic lighter was also found on him.
The public is urged to contact the Missing Persons Unit of the State Criminal Police Office or any other police station with information about the deceased's identity. It is hoped that this information will help to identify the man and bring closure to any family or friends who may be missing him.
