El Burhan, a three-year-old horse trained by George Boughey, claimed victory in a £30,000 1m2f handicap race at Chester, winning by a margin of two and a quarter lengths. This triumph marks El Burhan's comeback victory after a spring win at Chester and a disappointing performance at Royal Ascot.

Boughey, the trainer of El Burhan, expressed his gratitude to the horse's owner for their patience and belief in the horse's potential. He believes that El Burhan could be better than a handicapper and is coming good at the back-end of his three-year-old career. However, he also mentioned that sponsors bet365 have given El Burhan a quote of 25-1 for the Cambridgeshire, which he thinks might be too quick for the horse.

Boughey also noted that a bit of give in the ground is key for El Burhan's performance. This young horse will face upcoming hurdles in endurance and speed racing, with key races scheduled for late 2025 and early 2026.

Meanwhile, at Ayr, the horse Redarna, trained by Dianne Sayer, won a division of a mile handicap, making it his ninth course success. Sayer stated that Redarna loves Ayr and that it's his time of year. The win was part of a hat-trick of wins within 24 hours for Sayer.

Jim Goldie, a Glasgow trainer, also had a successful day at the Gold Cup meeting, winning with three out of 13 runners. His winning horses included Dandy Magic, Ayr Poet, and Dwindling Funds.

Adrian Keatley, another trainer, had a double win with Sea The Power and Surrey Belle in the first and last race of the meeting. However, Keatley suffered a significant setback when Flying Finn sustained a fatal injury in the feature race.
