Ekaterina Goltsova, a young and talented chess player from Nizhny Novgorod's sports school No. 9, has made a significant mark in the chess world by winning the All-Russian Blitz Chess Championships.
Goltsova, who is an International Grandmaster, showcased her skills in a competition that attracted 248 players from across the nation and even five foreign countries. The tournament, held in Moscow in 2025, was a challenging event that featured eight Grandmasters, six International Masters, and 26 FIDE Masters.
Goltsova's victory was achieved using the Swiss system in a 11-round competition. She demonstrated her persistence, hard work, and exceptional talent by scoring 7.5 out of 11, securing her place at the top of the leaderboard.
Her coach, Svetlana Vifleemskaya, was also part of this impressive achievement. The duo received congratulations from the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Nizhny Novgorod for their excellent performance and victory in the championship.
