Eintracht welcomes two new members who show exceptional strength

In a thrilling encounter, second-division team VfL Eintracht Hagen clinched a significant victory in the DHB Cup, defeating third-division side HC Empor Rostock with a comfortable margin of 35:24. The match, held at the Fiete-Reder Sports Hall in Warnemünde, was played out in front of 403 spectators.

The match was a tough contest, with both teams displaying their prowess. However, VfL Eintracht Hagen's quick switching after turnovers and a solid defensive block, particularly from new signing Philip Jungemann, proved to be decisive factors. Niclas Pieczkowski and Josip Jukic also shone brightly, making it difficult for the opposing attack to get into the game.

Linus Kutz, making his competitive debut for VfL Eintracht Hagen, extended the team's lead to 32:22 in the 56th minute. Meanwhile, Jan von Boenigk and Hakon Styrmisson scored important goals, contributing to a 7:3 and 12:6 lead respectively.

Pavel Prokopec, the team's coach, was pleased with the performance, commending the contributions of Kutz and Jungemann. The victory was a satisfying first cup appearance for VfL Eintracht Hagen, showcasing an already well-integrated team in many areas.

It's worth noting that, as of August 2025, VfL Eintracht Hagen's main handball team is not explicitly listed in the 2. Handball-Bundesliga or the 3. Liga Männer schedules. However, their second team, VfL Eintracht Hagen II, is scheduled to play in the 3. Liga Männer on August 30, 2025. This indicates that, at least for now, VfL Eintracht Hagen competes in the 3rd division (3. Liga Männer) in handball.

The team will now look forward to the next round of the DHB Cup, aiming to continue their impressive form and potentially challenge higher-division teams, as they did in the first round against HC Empor Rostock.

The football-like nature of handball was evident during VfL Eintracht Hagen's win against HC Empor Rostock, particularly in their quick switching after turnovers and solid defensive block. New signing Philip Jungemann played a crucial role in these tactics, further demonstrating the team's potential performance in future sports competitions.
