Transfer Complete: Captain Koehler Leaves Braunschweig - Eintracht Braunschweig sells captain Sven Köhler to Grasshopper Zurich in six-figure deal

Eintracht Braunschweig has completed the transfer of captain Sven Köhler to Swiss club Grasshopper Club Zurich. The deal brings a six-figure fee to the German side. Köhler's exit marks the latest change in a busy winter window for the team.

Köhler's departure was confirmed after he missed the last two matches. His absence came as he pushed for a move away from the club. The 30-year-old now joins Grasshopper Zurich, ending his time at Braunschweig.

During the 2024 winter transfer period, the club also moved four other players. Ken Izekor was loaned to Eintracht Braunschweig's own second team. Jeanuël Belocian headed to VfL Wolfsburg on loan, while Artem Stepanov joined FC Utrecht temporarily. Alejo Sarco, another loanee, moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The sale of Köhler brings in a significant sum for Braunschweig. His exit follows a series of loans that reshaped the squad. The team now adjusts to life without its former captain as the season continues.
