Egypt's upcoming parliamentary elections, the first step towards civilian rule, are set for July. The Interior Ministry has pledged neutrality, while the police and army have clarified their roles in ensuring a secure voting process for election day.

Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi has confirmed that the army is working alongside the police to secure the 2024 election polls. Previously, the police played a significant role in the 2010 election polls, including preventing opposition supporters from voting. However, for the upcoming 2024 election polls, the Interior Ministry has committed to full neutrality, promising to remain impartial to all political forces and parties. The ministry's role will be limited to securing polling stations from the outside.

The Egyptian authorities have outlined their approach to the upcoming 2024 election polls. While the army and police will work together to ensure security, the Interior Ministry has assured neutrality, marking a step towards a fairer voting process as the country transitions to civilian rule.
