Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi has confirmed that the army is working alongside the police to secure the 2024 election polls. Previously, the police played a significant role in the 2010 election polls, including preventing opposition supporters from voting. However, for the upcoming 2024 election polls, the Interior Ministry has committed to full neutrality, promising to remain impartial to all political forces and parties. The ministry's role will be limited to securing polling stations from the outside.
